Mi experencia como colaboradora voluntaria en el Centro Conviven fue muy positiva. La diversidad de sus servicios, la creatividad de sus programas y su compromiso con la comunidad fueron impresionantes. Pero lo más destacado fue la gente – las personas que trabajaban allí, las que colaboraban y las que se beneficiaban con los servicios. El Centro Conviven tiene un sentido de la calidez y de la comunidad. Además, Valmir es un líder innovador que mantiene en equilibrio las necesidades de la gente y las demanda de manejar eficientemente la entidad. Pienso que el Centro Conviven es un muy buen lugar para colaborar como un voluntario.

My experience as a volunteer at Centro Conviven was very positive. The diversity of their services, the creativity of their programs and their commitment to the community are impressive. But what stood out the most was the people – those who worked there, those who volunteered and those who used the services. Centro Conviven has a sense of warmth and community. Moreover, Valmir is an innovative leader who balances well the necessities of the people and the demands of running an efficient organization. I think that Centro Conviven is a very good place to volunteer.

"El Centro de Conviven me mostró la cara escondida de Buenos Aires, una cara de padecimiento, pero descobrí que esa cara puede sonreírse igual. He sido impresionado por el monton de compasion que hay en el Centro y por la sofisticacion de los trabajos voluntarios que el centro brinda. Es obvio que ese Centro es un farol en un lugar que no brilla tanto, y recomiendo que mas gente venga a ver como pueden iluminar la luz que viene por el Centro."

Trabajar en la sala de juegos del Centro Conviven fue una experiencia
Inolvidable. Aprendí mucho sobre como funciona un centro comunitario, y
también aprendí mucho sobre los asuntos políticos y sociales que
Afectan las familias Argentinas. Yo tenia mucha suerte poder trabajar con gente
tan amable; ellas tenían mucha paciencia con mi castellano y siempre
querían hablar conmigo sobre mi trabajo. Y me encantaban los niños
tanto!
Espero que yo le pudiera ayudar a la gente de Conviven tanto como ellos
me ayudaban durante mi tiempo en
Buenos Aires.

Working in the playschool at Centro Conviven was an unforgettable
experience. I learned a lot about how a community center functions, and
I
also learned a lot about the political and social issues that affect
Argentine families. I was very lucky to be able to work with such nice
people; they were very patient with my Spanish and always wanted to
talk
to me about my work. And I loved the children
so much! I hope I was
able
to help the people of Conviven as much as they helped me during my time
in
Buenos Aires.

For me, CONVIVEN is more an opportunity to exchange than to
volunteer. I feel lucky to be able to share my interests and
knowledge in exchange for the pleasure of getting to know people of
all ages who are eager to learn and to have fun. The atmosphere is
always happy, and people are always excited to take a class and
learn something new. People between the ages of seven and fifty are
constantly asking about when there are openings to study music,
language, or computers. The interest and ambition of the students
is extremely gratifying.

Para mi, CONVIVEN es una oportunidad mas para intercambiar, que solo
ser voluntario. Me siento muy afortunado por poder compartir mis
conocimientos y intereses en cambio del placer de conocer a
personas de todas las edades que tienen ganas para aprender y
también a divertirse. El ambiente es siempre de felicidad, y la
gente esta muy emocionada para tomar clases conmigo y aprender nuevas
cosas. Gente entre las edades de siete y cincuenta años, siempre me estan
preguntando sobre cuando hay disponibilidades para estudiar música,
inglés, y computación. El nivel de interés y ambición de todos los
alumnos es muy gratificante.
